Seventy percent of the current UK nuclear workforce is set to retire by 2025 and this will bring significant challenges and skills gaps to an industry that is set to grow, the UK's minister in charge of energy has said. In a speech to students at Bridgwater College's new energy centre, Chris Huhne said energy companies have plans to install up to 16GW of new nuclear capacity in the UK by 2025, bringing the possibility of 30,000 new jobs.
