The theoretical problems, practical application, and trends in the development of new lighting equipment employing long-life electrodeless gas-discharge lamps with microwave pumping (including sulfur lamps of Solar type), induction luminescent light sources (QL, Genura, and Endura), and transformer lamps using high-frequency discharges are discussed.
