On The 60th Birthday Of Aleksandr Sergeevich Dmitriev

June 17, 2008, was the 60th birthday of Professor Aleksandr Sergeevich Dmitriev, a doctor of physics and mathematics, a two-time laureate of the State Prize of the USSR Council of Ministers, and a well-known scientist in the field of the theory and applications of dynamic chaos. Dmitriev was born in the village of Krotovka, Kuibyshev region, Kuibyshev oblast (now Samara oblast) in an officer's family. After graduating from high school in 1966, he entered the Faculty of General and Applied Physics of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT). After graduating from the MIPT, Dmitriev worked for NPO Energiya from 1971 to 1981. In 1974, he received his candidate's degree in physics and mathematics.
