I refer to the article on 10-wheeler locomotives in New Zealand, starting on page 28 of Observer 318. While it is great to see some of the older articles, penned by eminent researchers who are no longer with us, reappear in current issues of our magazine, care must be taken to ensure that the material being republished is still correct. Even learned people like Tom McGavin could misinterpret material, or make simple mistakes at times.
