Innovation, and thus continued business success, seems to defy typical stereotypes. As we already know from the works of Saras Sarasvathy ('effectuation') and Eric Ries (The Lean Start-Up), true innovations seldom come from an "analysis-paralysis" approach or from following detailed new product development processes down to the tee. However, your stereotypic "gung-ho, dive-head-first, couldn't-care-less-about-planning" entrepreneur does not come out as a winner in the innovation game either. The truly innovative entrepreneurs, or innovateurs, seem to lie somewhere between these two extremes.
