And so I entered Time School. A poor student in my Chronology years, my family considered this my last chance for some meagre temporal success. Expectations were low. Among the more chronogrammatical parents it was whispered that even the best tempo teacher could take a student like me and make a slow day, encounter a full year of toil in one of my laboriously unproductive weeks or turn an ordinary school month into a protracted, lumbering lifetime.
