Niigata Giboku Co., Ltd. has developed a technique to manufacture concrete laminated board using only cement powder and pitchstone, without sand or gravel. This new concrete laminate is 60% lighter than previous types, so sections can be carried manually. Manufacture is easy with this technique because the blend is 6:1 of pitchstone to cement. The weight of one section is 2,070g after moisture absorption. Based on this light concrete laminate, this company has developed the greenery product Moss Art for the rooftop of buildings. This product allows greenery to be grown on the concrete sections, using moss planted on a mat of palm husks put on the concrete.
