A braking system that's at the heart of Europe's road safety strategy does not cut the number of road accidents, according to research that will shock many drivers. Instead of making road trips safer, the anti-lock braking system (ABS) is encouraging drivers to cut down on safety margins and push their cars' stopping ability to the limit.
