Comcast International Media Group is seeking European partners to help in the roll-out of its E! Online entertainment-news website, which has had a limited impact since launching in four European countries at the start of the year. The company, the international programming and distribution arm for the channels of US cable company Comcast, launched versions of E! Online in the UK, Germany, France and Italy in January but has struggled to generate traffic. The UK site attracts about six million impressions a month, but its continental counterparts are well behind with 350,000 impressions in Germany and 200,000 in both Italy and France. The company hopes that new partnerships with local media players, such as tabloid newspapers, could be a cost-effective way to make its website content, particularly videos, more accessible and attractive to non-English-speaking audiences.
