CSA criticises proposals for French switchover delay

The French television regulator, the Conseil Superieur de l'Audiovisuel, has criticised proposals put forward by a committee reviewing the "digital dividend" to delay the start of digital switchover in France. The CSA last week reported back on its consultation on digital switchover and suggested that the process should begin at the beginning of 2009, progressing on a region-by-region basis. This would follow a switchover pilot affecting about 10,000 homes taking place in October 2008.
