SPECIAL ISSUE: COMPUTATIONAL INTELLIGENCE IN ECONOMICS AND FINANCE

This special issue on computational intelligence in economics and finance includes seven papers selected from the 4th International Workshop on Computational Intelligence in Economics and Finance (CIEF'04), held from July 21 to 26 in Salt Lake City. The seven papers can be roughly divided into two groups. The first four papers are contributions made to agent-based computational economics, whereas the other three are devoted to the applications of computational intelligence to quantitative financial modeling. In this preface, we shall highlight each of them.
