Physicists Finds Easier Method To Produce Cloaking Devices

Two physicists may have found an easier way to make things invisible after developing a cloaking device for microwaves, which may be applied to light. Cloaking devices, a form of advanced stealth technology, are used to render spacecraft invisible in science fiction; but thus far, all methods require exotic materials and would only work at certain colours of light. An idea, conceived by Professor Ulf Leonhardt of the National University of Singapore and Associate Professor Tomas Tyc of Masaryk University, Czech Republic, may change all this, with their researches published in the December 2008 issue of Science Express.
