Breaking ground: librarians working outside the library

Purpose - The purpose of this paper is to describe the rationale and purpose by which librariansrnhave been assigned to a "computer commons" outside the traditional library building on a largerncampus of a community college.rnDesign/methodology/approach - The approach takes the form of a literature review andrncommentary on this topic that is now being addressed by cost-conscious colleagues.rnFindings - Usage of the library building is increasing and therefore a reasonable response needed tornbe developed.rnOriginality/value - The value in addressing this issue is to encourage discussion on otherrncommunity college campuses.
