Young engineers from 14 countries were Gold Awards winners at the Daimler and Unesco-backed 2009 Mondialogo Engineering Awards in Stuttgart on Monday.rnThe gold, silver and bronze awards were presented for innovative project proposals to reduce poverty, promote sustainable development and mitigate climate change.rnEight teams of student engineers collected the €15,000 (£13,479) Gold Award, 12 teams of student engineers from 18 countries received Silver Awards with £8,986, while 10 student teams from 11 countries received Bronze Awards worth £4,494.rnICE president Paul Jowitt was one of the judges.
