In conclusion, I believe that ASNE continues to provide valuable support to individual members, government activities, and industry. Our joint activities with SNAME to define a win-win strategic alliance are very positive and are essential as we move forward. There are clearly challenges ahead in keeping revenue and expenses in balance, and in evolving our programs to a point where we are less dependent on the big ASNE Day event for one-third of our revenue. Finding a replacement for Dennie Pignotti is the highest and most difficult challenge in the near term. The generous gifts from Lester Rosenblatt and Admiral Jones are most appreciated and will be put to excellent use. As I complete my term as your president I turn over a society that is strong and highly regarded throughout the naval engineering community. We are recognized for providing timely and technically sound programs and providing a forum for effective technical interchange on current issues. We face challenges in sustaining adequate staffing and financial resources to keep the society growing and improving, but I am confident that with the strong leadership you have elected for the coming years we will overcome those challenges and continue our 117 year tradition of excellent service to our nation's maritime services.
