There's almost a thousand acres now protected in the watershed and the state commissioner of public lands just approved a boundary expansion on the natural area that will move it from 150 acres to 3,600 acres.rnDawit Zeleke (for Richard Thieriot, Landowner Stewardship): [Mr. Thieriot would] come out every day and check on what I was doing and we had the irrigation laid out, we were planting cottonwoods, willows, cuttings, and acorns for oaks and all this stuff and he [offers some] advice and he moves on. Five days later, there is Mr. Thieriot with a backhoe opera-rntor planting 15-year-old oak trees. And he goes, "What you're doing will work, but it's not fast enough for me."
