States, Territories Earn 25 Percent Dues Rebates

Exactly half of the 54 state and territory National Guard associations have earned 25 percent dues rebates, Bonnie Cater, membership director, told the NGAUS board of directors Nov. 22. The special one-year trial program refunds 25 percent of collected national-dues to those states and territories that either meet their NGAUS prescribed membership participation goal or maintain 100 percent membership. The goals are on a sliding scale, from three to 15 percentage points. State or territories with a high percentage need only boost their total by a few percentage points. Those with lower memberships have higher marks. States and territories have until Dec. 31 to reach their goals. Carter said several state and territories are still working on the program. Their efforts should boost overall NGAUS membership past last year's total of 67 percent, she said.
