Letter to Editor: Take out books

To the Editor: I have an idea for a way that everybody can help ufology. Even people who don't investigate sightings or write articles can do this. Simply check UFO books, videos, magazines, DVDs, and whatever out of your local library. Even if you already read the book, or have your own copy, this would tell the library that there is interest in the titles and that it should retain them. Also, it would encourage them to acquire more material in the genre. You can ask how it tracks book usage. If the only electronic record is of items checked out (without regard to for how LONG), it might well be enough for you to check out the books and then return them to another desk or to the book-drop without even having to actually take them home. Work in conjunction with friends, so that the copies in other branches and in the suburbs are withdrawn too. And repeat it every year or two.
