Characterizing and visualizing critical aspects of deep water projects can enable naval architects and marine engineers to reduce risk as development work gets underway. Oil and gas development projects typically will follow a phased project delivery process similar to that shown in Figure 1, which depicts activities undertaken during the life of the project.
