Once upon a time buying a new Porsche 911 was a relatively simple task. A couple engine options, the choice of a Targa model or a standard coupe. Just one transmission: a conventional five-speed manual. Today, there are approximately 20 roadgoing 911 variants to choose from in the U.S., leading some to believe the recent addition of the GTS version is slicing a niche too thin. But those people would be wrong.
