摘要

Some results of our experimental study on kinematic peculiarities of flow around cylinders in plane channels are described for the case when the cylinders block the flow and are able to move freely only across this flow. The special case of intensive self-oscillations of cylinders accompanied by their impact interaction with the channel walls is considered. A universal relation between the dimensionless frequency of self-oscillations (the Strouhal number) and the cross-section area reduction ratio of flow is obtained for 1.8 · 10~4 ≤ Re ≤ 6.4 · 10~4, where Re is the Reynolds number. The ratio of cylinder density to water density is also taken into account in this relation.
