INFRASTRUCTURE ASSESSMENT PLANNED

The national Infrastructure Commission (NIC) has launched a consultation ahead of the UK's first National Infrastructure Assessment (NIA). The government plans to give the NIC a statutory role, and intends to bring forward legislation to place the body on a 'permanent, independent footing' Among its tasks will be to complete one NIA during each Parliament.The NIA will look to assess the welfare of the UK's current infrastructure and outline a strategic vision for future needs over a 30-year horizon.
