Council is 'powerless' to help failed asylum seekers

Glasgow City Council will be 'powerless' to help failed asylum seekers facing eviction next month, its leader has warned. Serco announced last week it will press ahead with controversial lock-change evictions of around 300 former asylum seekers in the city. Council leader, Cllr Susan Aitken, has written to immigration minister Caroline Nokes about the 'deeply concerning' situation.
