Reducing waste and increasing recycling is high on Brighton & Hove City Council's agenda but over the past year this service has been through a significant amount of change. We need a senior officer who will realise the potential to provide an excellent, efficient service while improving recycling rates. The new head of city clean and parks will also be responsible for waste collection, street cleansing and parks and open spaces. A change in culture is required and we are looking for someone with good leadership skills who will increase performance management and customer focus one of the roles major challenges is waste collection, we are in the process of renewing our fleet on a rolling programme and there have been significant changes in collection rounds. The new head of department will be responsible for consolidating this process and overseeing industrial relations with staff and refuse crews.
