Town hall bosses have called on the Government to make people living in supported accommodation exempt from its new housing benefit cap. The Local Government Association (LGA) said the proposed limit to the local housing allowance would have dire consequences for many vulnerable and disadvantaged groups who would struggle to make up the difference with the higher rental costs often associated with assisted schemes.
