Taking Matters into counties' own hands

While a new Government in place ends the recent unprecedented political upheaval, a great detail of uncertainty is ahead, not least for local government. Post-Brexit, the sector has collectively asked the question: What happens next? With new ministers now appointed, the sector should concentrate on influencing the prime minister and her team to consider policy changes. The County Councils Network (CCN) will play a key role in taking up this challenge in these critical first few weeks. As many have argued since Brexit, the devolution of power and resources will equip councils to transform public services, helping ease the pressure in localities, as well as bringing decisions closer to residents.
