Putting down roots is important. We all want a place we can call our own and somewhere we feel we belong. It is no secret that a sense of belonging is often achieved through home ownership. I managed to buy my first home in my twenties. I worked hard, I saved and 1 bought it. For my generation, it was an experience repeated across the country each day; people striving and succeeding to become homeowners. Sadly, by 2010, that was no longer the case. Hard-working families could do all of the right things but still be left without the opportunity to get on the property ladder. It didn't have to be this way.
