Slow progress for job creation levels

Levels of job creation have failed to recover to their pre-recession levels in all parts of the country barring inner London, research commissioned by the Trades Union Congress (TUC) has revealed. Findings from the Centre for Economic and Social Inclusion show the number of new job starts are running at 20% below pre-recession levels, but metropolitan areas including London, Birmingham and Tyne and Wear are returning to growth faster than their neighbouring rural areas.
