Double blow for social care team

The social care regulator has been hit by a key resignation and a demand for a parliamentary review.The head of the health and social care regulator has announced she is to step down next year.Baroness Young has informed the board of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and health secretary, Andy Burnham, of her resignation after a series of clashes over the hospital ratings system. Lady Young said she had pointed the regulator in 'the right direction', but it would be for others 'to take it forward'.
