Redcar and Cleveland Council is taking legal advice, after a tribunal this week awarded a former employee more than £400,000 in compensation after she was dismissed in controversial circumstances.Pauline Scanlon, a former equalities officer at the council, claims she was forced out of her job after she voiced concerns the authority had filled a senior human resources post without first advertising the role - a breach of the council's equal opportunities policy.
