£45m upgrades for Brighton & Hove's housing

Brighton & Hove City Council has developed a new plan to improve the authority's housing stock by setting up a new company to oversee £45m worth of upgrades.The Sussex-based council has put together the proposal after an initial bid to refurbish homes suffered delays whileawaiting government approval. Under the revised plan, Brighton has proposed establishing a not-for-profit firm, Brighton & Hove Seaside Community Homes, and will lease 500 homes to the new company so that upgrades can take place.
