If you were like me you had a sense of foreboding awaiting the publication of Will Hutton's review of pay in the public sector. That's Will Hutton, executive vice chair and former chief executive of The Work Foundation -not to be confused with John Hutton who's been tasked to review pensions by the Government. My personal concerns were on a number of levels but, in particular, I was bracing myself for the usual tirade from certain sections of the media. In the end however, this type of sensationalism didn't really manifest itself. In my opinion The Hutton Review of Fair Pay in the Public Sector - December 2010 was, in itself, pretty fair - fair play to the fair pay report.
