Telford and Wrekin Council launched its Co-operative Commission on 16 September to find new ways of working with the community in an ongoing drive to become a co-operative council. Around 60 leading business, community and public organisations came together to form the independent commission. On Friday, they chose the topics they will consider and then make recommendations to the council on. Council leader, Kuldip Sahota, said: 'This borough has some huge challenges ahead which will be compounded by the £40m of savings that we have to find. 3 Kids tipped off Almost four in five children (78%) living in care homes were tipped-off by staff that an Ofsted inspection was imminent, before the regulator switched in April to a policy of only holding unannounced visits. A 'children's audif into social care inspection surveyed the views of 224 children, 149 of whom had experienced an Ofsted inspection. According to the survey, more than one-quarter (26%) of those given advance warning were told to prepare in advance for visits by tidying up, were instructed to behave themselves in the presence of inspectors and, in some cases, give a good report of their conditions.
