Interserve in shock bid to buy Mouchel

Outsourcing group, Interserve, has confirmed it is in advanced talks to take over rival local gov-ernment contractor, Mouchel.The support services com-pany announced last week it was in discussions with an unnamed potential buyer, and had signed a co-operation agreement with the firm. Following speculation in The Financial Times newspaper, In-terserve confirmed in a statement that it was in discussions to buy Mouchel, although it stressed there was 'no certainty that any offer will ultimately be made'.
