The final challenge

Communication is a two-way process, and in conversations about sensitive topics, listening is every bit as important as talking. Twelve pilots across health and social care have spent 12 months looking at the most effective training to help care workers communicate with service-users and their families in the sensitive area of end-of-life care. The 'National end-of-life care programme', which funded the pilots, has brought the lessons together in a report - Talking about end-of-life care: Right conversations, right people, right time.
