摘要

Local authorities fear their role in protecting tenancies and managing local housing markets could be lost in the migration of Housing Benefit (HB) into the coalition's flagship Universal Credit (UC) welfare reforms. Concerns were expressed in a Department for Work and Pension (DWP) report of responses into the Local Support Services Framework. Issued jointly with the Local Government Association, in February, the framework sets out the sort of support which councils might provide or commission for UC claimants, how such services might be paid for and managed in partnership with the DWP.
