GMB union calls for funding plan by Surrey CC

Surrey CC has dropped plans to hold a referendum on increasing council tax by 15% to cover the shortfall in funding from central government. It now plans to raise council tax by 4.9% for 2017-18, amid reports it agreed a 'sweetheart deal' with the Government on future funding.
