Trust in local services is at a premium, now more than ever. Between 2011/12 and the end of 2018/19 we at Newcastle City Council will have achieved savings from adult social care budgets of £48m. It has been a huge challenge and it has been essential to talk to people, find out what prevents things from getting worse and reassure them that although things work differently, we are still here when they need us.
