A children's services boss, who came under fire for failings at his former council over murdered schoolboy Daniel Pelka, has stepped down from his new child protection post. Tower Hamlets LBC said Colin Green had decided to withdraw from the post of chairman of the Local Safeguarding Children Board 'with immediate effect'. Mr Green took up the London post after retiring as director of children's services at Coventry City Council, following revelations about failings by his department over the boy's death. In the wake of the publication of a serious case review, which found key opportunities were missed to intervene in the case of the four-year-old, British Association of Social Workers chief executive Bridget Robb said: 'Serious case reviews focus on what was unique in each case.
