Campaigners have welcomed new government guidelines, which state that 15-minute care visits are inappropriate under the new Care Act. The Department of Health published its response to its recent consultation on the Act last week, which includes the final regulations that will guide councils when it comes into force in April 2015. According to the final regulations 'very short home care visits are not normally appropriate'. 'We are delighted that they have been so clear on this,' said Leonard Cheshire Disability chief executive, Clare Pelham. 'This is an unmistakeable signal that flying visits do not deliver the high-quality personal care everyone deserves.'
