I don't think it matters what age of Mini you have as it seems to me that when you check over an unrestored Mini, the front will usually have a few areas of rust. One of the most prone areas is the seam under the headlight, where water creeps in from the back. As you may recall my wife Jen's RSP, Tay, had rather major issues when it came to the front end, which is what first kicked this restoration off. With a massive crack above the offside front damper mount, the wings obviously needed to be removed to replace the inner wings. They needed replacing anyway, as did the front panel. The inner wings were replaced very early on in the restoration, but it was time for Stuart Wright to finish the panel work at the sharp end.
