Hydro dipping, which is also known as hydro printing or hydro graphics, is an alternative method of 'painting' parts which is just as durable and permanent as paint but offers many more aesthetic options. It works on all shapes and sizes (only limited to the size of the water tank used - in this case 140cm x 90cm) and on almost any type of material including, metal, plastic, stone and even wood. The object is prepared, primed, base coated, dipped, then your choice of finish is applied: matt or gloss high-quality lacquer. The process is pretty much the same for any object. We dipped a pair of Mini headlight surrounds, a dial pod, a boot lid, wheels, number plate surround and rocker cover (which was a bit more tricky because of the holes and all the ridges along it) and a matching oil filler cap.
