Diversification puts Suffolk dairy on road to success

Diversification is helping many a small or medium-sized business to increase market share and that has certainly been the case for the Strachan family of Rendham, Saxmundham in Suffolk. They have seen their Marybelle-branded dairy products selling in increasing volumes to shops and supermarkets across the region. And as George Strachan told Milk Industry, the family-run business has high hopes of repeating the exercise with its yogurts too in the near future. Ice cream has also been made at the farm under the Suffolk Meadow brand for around a dozen years, using the milk from the family's 180-strong dairy herd.
