The RABDF and Dairy Crest have launched the Dairy Student of the Year 2011 competition. The award, which is open to entrants studying an agricultural course at a UK university or college, has ￡1000 at stake for the winner, plus ￡500 towards a dairying educational project at the place of study they represent. Entrants will be required to take part in a preliminary round of interviews focused on improving a dairy farm's efficiency and service to the industry, after which four finalists will be selected to tour Dairy Crest's Gloucestershire dairy at Severnside to gain a greater understanding of milk processing and the priorities for consumers.
