On 24 June, Navantia launched the first of the four Economic Zone Patrol Boat (PVOZEEs) and the third of four offshore patrol boats (OPVs) that are being built for the Venezuelan Navy at the San Fernando-Puerto Real shipyard. The vessels were named CARIBE and NAIGUATA, respectively and were christened by Dinorah Villasmil de Mata and Alma Pura Blanco de Padron. Attending the ceremony were, among others, the Vice-chairman of SEPI, Federico Monte-ro, and the San Fernando-PuertornReal shipyard's General Manager, Fernando Miguelez.
