The MEADS Dilemma

Germany's procurement programmes might be on the verge of being cut, as the MoD is facing a budget shortage of €2 to 3 billion. The German ministry will decide in this summer on its support for existing projects such as MEADS, and in 2011 on the last tranche of 37 EUROFIGHTERs. Other projects such as the acquisition of a new transport helicopter to replace the CH-53 had yet to be decided upon.
