High Innovation and Excellent Performance

DSM Dyneema has recently finished two projects to study the long-term ballistic and high temperature properties of various personal protection equipment elements intended for use by law enforcement and military personnel, made with its DYNEEMA unidirectional composite (Read more about this in the previous Armour article). The conclusions of both studies were that protective articles manufactured with DYNEEMA can be designed in such a way that these meet the most stringent tests and specifications for temperatures, extreme conditions for body armour and the aging oi real ballistic articles did not change the performance of DYNEEMA over time, MILITARY TECHNOLOGY interviewed DSM's expert team, consisting of: Christian Widdershoven, Global VP Marketing & Sales of DSM DYNEEMA; Dirk Louwers, Marketing Manager Life Protection in region EMEA; and one of the authors, Hans Meulman, Technical Application Manager Life Protection EMEA.
