CBRN continues to be the wildcard in defence, with rogue states in the forefront of its use. Through the Kuala Lumpur assassination the North Korean regime showed it has CBRN beyond the relentlessly burgeoning nuclear and missile threat; Syria's chemical bombardments showed it still holds undisclosed stocks of a banned chemical warfare agent (CWA) - sarin - which was meant to have been totally dismantled and removed through cooperation with UN officials in mid-2014.
