What is the statusof training readiness for the surfacewarfare community as we speak?Vice Admiral Kitchener: We are makingsure the Surface Force is on track andworking to move our force from a cultureof compliance to a culture of excellence.Our focus remains on rebuilding the SurfaceForce Professional Base Training andwe have introduced and implementeda revised Surface Warfare Officer (SWO)training and assessment continuum thatemploys Navigation, Seamanship, andShiphandling (NSS) assessments acrossall career milestones.
