It is a new year, a new century, and a new millennium, and another opportunity to ponder and examine the newest products and latest technology available to designers of wireless-communications equipment. The big event takes place at the Eighth Annual Wireless Symposium and Exhibition in San Jose, CA, February 22-24, 2000. Next year, 400 providers of components, test equipment, software, and services will begin the journey into 21st century communications technology. Ahead in this adventure lie the opening stages of third-generation (3G) wireless, the first trials of Bluetooth technology, the mobile Internet, local-area networks (LANs), plus unknown projects still in the embryonic stage.
